Harry Potter

Why did people stand outside various book shops/stores to wait for the new Harry Potter book to come out?

I mean come on! I went to Sainsburys the day after to get some stuff for breakfast, there it was, stacks of the things and not at ridiculously high prices either.

Supermarkets are villains for destroying communities and sucking the life out of people. However, it stops the need for anybody to do stupid things like forming a queue for an average book

I agree. I don't understand the hype about Harry Potter. I think the story makes great movies, I think the story is above average. Do I think its quality literature, not quite. Now if Shakespeare was releasing his latest play, I might consider waiting...but honestly, if I waited one year, I could wait another 24 hours.

Chris,

My Sentiments exactly.

It isn't fascinating enough, stimulating enough or even interestign enough to make me queue to buy the book.

Amazingly as well the people who queued paid full price. The likes of Asda and Sainsburys offerred the book at cut-price the following day.

Nothing queer as folk - as they say
